Emmanuelle Diehl joined the European Institute of Peace (EIP) as a Senior Advisor in August 2019 and has been working on the Yemen file. She has 18 years in peacebuilding, conflict and human rights experience. She is also an Adjunct Professor of law and human rights at the University of Blanquerna in Barcelona.
She is used to working in conflict-ridden countries from MENA, to South-East Asia. She is also part of the World Bank’s CAO mediation team, of the Surge Peacebuilding Team at the Peacebuilding Fund, and of the UNDP Crisis Bureau’s roster of experts and amongst others.
A dual French and American national, she is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and comfortable in colloquial Egyptian Arabic. She holds two MAs in International Security Studies, & International Relations, is currently preparing her Ph.D. on human rights, businesses and peacebuilding.
