Ivana Stanojev

Ivana Stanojev brings 15 years of experience to her role as Regional Advisor at the European Institute of Peace (EIP), having joined the organisation in December 2023. Her expertise lies in citizen participation and inclusive governance, gained through her work with various civil society organisations and government agencies in the Western Balkans.

Ivana contributed to fostering inclusive governance, collaborating with US-based NGOs such as the Council for Inclusive Governance and the Project on Ethnic Relations, as well as the Government of Serbia Coordination Body for Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja. Notably, she led and oversaw programs focused on enhancing the political participation of ethnic communities in the Western Balkans.

Before joining the Institute, she spent six years crafting inclusive policies within European Universities, and innovating civic education.

She also serves as a Parliamentary Liaison Officer on OSCE/ODIHR election observation missions, providing support to the Secretariats of OSCE PA, PACE, and EP in their election-related endeavors, predominantly in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Balkans.

Ivana holds a degree in sociology from the University of Belgrade and is currently pursuing a second degree in Education Policies. She was honored as a 2022/23 Marshall Memorial Fellow with the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
