Jane Lewis, an Irish national, has 20 years of field experience with humanitarian, stabilization and peace-building efforts in the Balkans, South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East. She has served with the United Nations, the European Commission, international NGOs and as an independent consultant. During her career she has led research, analysis and complex crisis response efforts in both natural and man-made disasters in Kosovo, Cambodia, Burundi, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chad, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. Ms Lewis has extensive experience in crisis diplomacy and conflict management – including engagement with state and non-state actors – and first-hand knowledge of a broad range of international response models.
Ms. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from New York University and Masters of Public Policy in International Relations from Princeton University.
