Roxana Cristescu

Roxana Cristescu is a Senior Advisor at the European Institute of Peace (EIP).

She is a professional with 15 years of international experience in the mediation of political and armed conflict.  Before joining the Institute, Roxana acted for over a decade as Head Eurasia and Director for European Affairs at CMI- Martti Ahtisaari peace foundation where she continues to be a senior advisor.

Her portfolio includes designing mediation and dialogue processes meant to complement official negotiation formats dealing with separatism, political transitions and national dialogues. She specialises in designing dialogue processes for government agencies and non-government actors and in providing mediation support for regional organisations (OSCE, UN) and governments.

Her work has covered country specific settings in eastern and southern Europe (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Belarus, Western Balkans), Russian Federation, Turkey, Central Asia (Afghanistan).

She is a member of the United Nations Mediation Roster, OSCE Mediation roster and a member of the UN Women, Central and Southeastern Europe (CSEE) Sub-regional Roster of Experts.
