Nesmah Mansoor Ali

Nesmah Mansoor Ali joined the European Institute of Peace in February 2026 as Programme Officer in the Climate and Environmental Peacemaking Programme, focusing on initiatives in Yemen.
Prior to her role at the Institute, Nesmah co‑founded the Peace Track Initiative (PTI), where she served as the organisation’s Policy and Communication Senior Officer and specialised in the intersection of peacebuilding and climate justice. She previously held positions as Field Coordinator and later Communications and Advocacy Officer at PTI, acting as the main focal point for Youth, Peace and Security. Nesmah has more than a decade of experience in human rights advocacy, with a particular focus on women’s and youth rights, and has contributed to numerous research projects on sexual and reproductive health, women, peace and security, and climate change.
Her professional experience also includes serving as Project Coordinator for Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) Media’s SRHR programme Hobb Wa Tebb. She is a trained negotiator through the Clingendael Institute and a founding member of the Women Solidarity Network, a coalition of more than 200 Yemeni women working for peace. Nesmah has been recognised as a Girls Globe fellow, and a Leaders’ Lab alumna of the Swedish Institute. Her writing on women’s rights during conflict, trauma, and wellbeing has been featured in various media outlets, and her personal story of war and displacement was included in the German book Flüchtlingsrevolution (The Refugee Revolution).
Nesmah holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Aden University and a master’s degree in International Relations, with a minor in Security Studies, from Inalco in Paris. She speaks Arabic, English and French.
