Crafting Peace: Inclusive and Holistic Strategies from a Youth Perspective

Access it here

Last year, as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, the European Institute of Peace co-hosted, together with the European Parliament, a workshop on creating more inclusive peace processes that take youth voices into account.

The workshop was attended by individuals from the Parliament’s Young Political Leaders Alumni Network, Forbes, Friends of Europe, Institute staff and other young leaders working in the fields of conflict resolution and peacemaking. Over 40 young political leaders and activists from across the globe came together at the European Parliament’s Infohub to take stock of the current state of peacemaking and look at the decade ahead.

This publications contains a set of recommendations built by a small working group that drew upon the conversations in the workshop. These recommendations cover four different topics: empowering youth and bridging generational gaps in peace processes; inclusive and localised paths to peaceful resolution of conflict; making the case for non-violent approaches to conflict resolution in a changing geopolitical environment; and navigating the impact of emerging technologies in conflict resolution and peace processes.
