Alina-Anna Josephson

Alina-Anna Josephson joined the Institute in November 2023 as a Programme Assistant for the European Neighbourhood Programme.

Prior to her role at the Institute, Alina worked as a Management Assistant at Agora Energiewende, where she also served as co-chair of the organisation’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) task force. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in enhancing workplace culture and promoting sensitivity towards DEI issues.

Alina’s professional journey includes an internship at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Finland, providing her with insights into diplomacy and diplomatic communication. Additionally, she contributed to the empowerment of disadvantaged youth in Bremen through her work with a local organisation while completing her studies. Her knowledge in conflict resolution deepened during fieldwork in Goma, DRC, where she gained firsthand experiences working in conflict zones.

Alina holds a M.Sc. in Conflict and Development Studies from the University of Ghent and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Bremen. She speaks Finnish, Estonian, Russian, German, and English, as well as some Spanish and French.
