Carlota Vilaça
Carlota Vilaça joined the European Institute of Peace in September 2026 as an intern, where she works on Mozambique, with a focus on inter-religious dialogue and peacebuilding efforts in the north of the country.
She is currently completing an MA in Global Security and Strategy at the Brussels School of Governance. Carlota previously obtained a BA in International Relations and Political Science from NOVA University Lisbon and completed an exchange semester at Sciences Po Paris. Her previous work experience includes an internship at the Portuguese Ministry of National Defence, work with the European Consortium for Political Research, and a project with Lisbon City Council focused on homelessness and social integration.
Her academic and professional interests centre on international security, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, with a particular interest in international responses to conflict and instability.
Carlota speaks Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
