Kate Almquist Knopf
Kate Almquist Knopf joined the European Institute of Peace (EIP) as a Senior Advisor in April 2024. She is also a Special Adviser to The Brenthurst Foundation, a South Africa-based think tank, and a Senior Advisor to WestExec Advisors, a strategic advisory firm based in Washington, D.C.
Kate is a former director of the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, an academic institution within the U.S. Department of Defense. She also previously served as assistant administrator for Africa and mission director for USAID/Sudan at the U.S. Agency for International Development. She is now an independent consultant living in Nairobi, Kenya
