Katia Synodinou

Katia joined the European Institute of Peace in August 2023 as a Trainee at the Executive Director’s Office.

Prior to joining EIP, she interned at the Greek Embassies in France and Belgium respectively, gaining valuable insights into diplomatic processes and international relations, while also managing relations with high-level stakeholders and diplomats from different countries.

She holds a Master of Science in International Politics from KU Leuven, where she specialised in Peace Research and Conflict Resolution while developing a strong interest in gender studies. In her academic journey, she focused on understanding global dynamics and challenges and, particularly the role of women in peace negotiations. In her final thesis, she notably explored the transformative potential of women’s involvement in conflict resolution and the reasons behind their exclusion from the official talks.

Beyond her native Greek, she is fluent in English and French, while having an intermediate knowledge of Spanish. She is thrilled to contribute her skills, knowledge, and dedication to the team at EIP as we work towards peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
