Mariyan Zumbulev

Mariyan Zumbulev is a Senior Programme Manager at the European Institute of Peace. He manages the Institute’s Asia Programme.

Prior to joining the Institute in September 2021, Mariyan worked as a peace and reconciliation advisor with the UN Mission in Afghanistan. He has also served with UN special political missions in Iraq, Lebanon and Sudan. Before joining the UN, Mariyan was engaged with the creation of the School of Public Policy at the Central European University. Previously, he worked at the New York office of the International Crisis Group, as director of UN advocacy and research, and with Crisis Action, as that organisation’s inaugural US-based director.

Mariyan has a master degree in public affairs from Princeton University.
