Nuradin Aden Dirie 

Nuradin Aden Dirie has been a Senior Advisor with the European Institute of Peace since June 2022. Throughout his career, he has driven multilateral efforts to advance peace processes across the Horn of Africa.

From 2013 to 2019, he served as a Special Advisor to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), playing a pivotal role in peace-making, peace support, and security sector reform in the region. Prior to that, he was the Senior Diplomatic Adviser to the President of Somalia, demonstrating his expertise in international diplomacy and state-building.

Nuradin’s earlier career includes significant contributions to social inclusion initiatives in London, work with UNICEF leading on child welfare and advocacy, and coordinating humanitarian responses during crises, including the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami in Somalia.
