Priscilla Hayner
Priscilla Hayner was pleased to join the European Institute of Peace as Senior Advisor in 2023 to work with the European Neighbourhood team, notably supporting the High-Level Working Group on the Environmental Impact of the War in Ukraine, for which the Institute served as international secretariat.
She has worked for many years on the challenges of justice in contexts of peace negotiations (in Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Colombia, Kenya, Sudan, and elsewhere) as well as on mediation process design more generally.
She was a member of the UN Standby Team of Senior Mediation Advisers until 2023; co-founded and helped lead the International Center for Transitional Justice, through 2010; and has published two well-received books: Unspeakable Truths and The Peacemaker’s Paradox.
