The Institute signs institutional partnership agreement with the Munich Security Conference
03/06/2026
The European Institute of Peace is proud to announce our institutional partnership with the Munich Security Conference. Built upon multiple previous occasions of cooperation, the partnership will consolidate an open and frequent dialogue in all areas of common activities.
This translates, in practice, to a wide range of collaboration activities, including co-hosting events, sharing networks, contact, and content, generating synergies for mutual benefit and the common goal of fostering peace and security.
The world’s leading forum for debate on international security, the Munich Security Conference brings together each February senior decision-makers and thought-leaders from around the world to discuss current and future challenges.
We’ve attended the MSC every year since 2019, contributing by serving as moderators and organising side events.
In the last two previous editions of the Munich Security Conference, the Institute has hosted two high-level discussions: ‘Words as Weapons: Dehumanisation and the End of Restraint’in 2026, co-hosted with the International Committee of the Red Cross and focused on how the impact of dehumanising narratives is exacerbated by social media and AI; and‘Peace in Pieces, Whatever Happened to Smart Approaches to Peace and Security?’ in 2025, co-organised with APCO and exploring the complex intersection of business and conflict resolution.
“I warmly welcome this partnership, which builds on years of close collaboration and will bring lasting benefits to all involved. At a time of growing turbulence, it is more important than ever to promote trust and dialogue. I look forward to many more years of strong and fruitful cooperation,” says Helga Maria Schmid, President of the Board of the European Institute of Peace and Vice-President of the Munich Security Conference Foundation Council.
